What is the Pocket Norfolk Broads guide? We all take our mobile phone on holiday. Well now you can use your mobile as a personal tour guide! Our pocket guide is a complete Norfolk Broads guidebook on your mobile phone. It will show you the best places to go and tell you interesting and entertaining stories along the way. It will help you spot local wildlife, guide you around nature reserves, tell you about the villages, navigate you along the river, tell you local legends and even spooky ghost stories! All the major local tourist attractions are covered, including boat trips, museums, train rides, gardens and even a weird village in the trees. There is a directory of pubs, restaurants, shops and other local places to go. It's like having a tourist information centre in your pocket.
Our unique guide to the Norfolk Broads can be viewed on modern mobile phones, smart phones, PDA's, Pocket PC's and some media players.
What about connection charges? The best bit is that the guide requires NO connection - you download the guide from our website to your computer and then transfer and store it in the memory of your mobile. You then use the browser already built into your mobile to view the guide. This means the guide is always available, you can use it all day and you do NOT have to pay for ANY connection charges - wow!
Will it work on my phone or pocket device? We have designed the guide to work on as many different types of pocket device as possible. The basic requirement is that your mobile has a memory card on which to store the guide, and a browser to view it - most modern phones and PDA's will have these. We have created a free test guide that you can download and test on your own mobile.
What does the guide contain? our guide currently covers all the major local points of interest north of Acle bridge, highlighting things to see and do. Using a mixture of photo's, maps and text, the guide is intended to replace a map, guidebook and all those paper leaflets you pick up from the local tourist information centre.
Did you know that hundreds of thousands of paper tourist information brochures are printed in this area alone and most end up in the bin? Our guide is an eco-friendly alternative and offers so much more than paper. You can help save our planet by avoiding to pick up those paper leaflets and insist that advertisers go electronic instead.
This all sounds great, but how much does it cost and how do I get it? Our pocket guide costs just £5 and this allows you to download the guide as many times as you like during the 2008 season - we are continually updating the guide, so you can download a version now, and then download an updated version later in the season. Once downloaded, the guide requires no connection charges and you can use it as often as you like.
